Illustration for What Car Details Help You Get a Clearer Quote?

A useful quote starts with a clear picture of the car. You do not need a mechanic’s report. Focus on what you know, and use “I don’t know” where appropriate.

Start with the right vehicle.

Select the make, choose the model and add the year. Our form suggests common models for each make. If yours is missing, choose “Other / not listed” and enter it yourself.

Describe what happens when you use it.

Does it start? Does it run poorly? Can it roll and steer? These observations are more useful than guessing at a diagnosis. Mention visible damage or missing parts in the notes.

Answer the parts questions honestly.

Select alloy rims, steel rims or “I don’t know.” For the catalytic converter, choose present, missing or “I don’t know.” Avoid going underneath a vehicle to check for a quote.

Give the actual pickup location.

Use the address where the car is parked. If it is at a repair shop, underground garage or storage lot, include access notes. A billing or home address may not be the pickup address.

Add photos if you have them.

A wide view and a few photos of visible damage can help. See the vehicle photo guide before uploading. Then start your quote and our team will review it.
